BHOPAL/Madhya Pradesh’s flagship e-Nagar Palika platform has been conferred the prestigious National e-Governance Award, marking a significant recognition of the state’s efforts to strengthen digital governance, cybersecurity and citizen-centric urban services.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav hailed the achievement as a matter of pride for the state, saying Madhya Pradesh had secured this honour at the National e-Governance Awards 2026. In a post on X, he noted that the Urban Administration and Development Department’s ‘Cyber Security Framework in e-Nagar Palika’ had received the Award. Describing the accolades as a testament to the state’s commitment to e-governance, innovation and technology-driven public service delivery.
Urban Administration and Development Commissioner Sanket Bhondve said the award reflects national-level appreciation for the state’s innovations in e-governance, secure digital infrastructure and transparent public service delivery under the leadership of the Chief Minister.
Bhondve said the e-Nagar Palika system has been designed not only to simplify and expedite civic services but also to ensure the highest standards of data security and privacy. The platform is built on a modern cloud infrastructure and incorporates advanced cybersecurity features, including a Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), data encryption and continuous cyber monitoring.
According to the commissioner, the integrated digital ecosystem safeguards the confidentiality, integrity and availability of citizens’ data while adhering to established security and compliance standards.
He said the initiative aligns with the Prime Minister’s Digital India vision, with the state government focusing on delivering accessible and transparent online services without compromising cybersecurity and data protection.
Under the recently expanded e-Nagar Palika 2.0 framework, the platform now offers GIS-based property management, cloud-enabled data administration, Artificial Intelligence-driven services and integration with various government digital platforms, including UMANG. The system currently supports more than 20 administrative modules and provides 24 citizen services through a unified interface.
Describing the award as a milestone for the state, Bhondve said it reinforces Madhya Pradesh’s commitment to digital innovation, secure governance and citizen-focused public administration and would further strengthen its vision of building a technologically advanced and digitally empowered state.
Officials said the integrated platform has improved the operational efficiency of urban local bodies while enabling faster, more transparent and hassle-free service delivery for citizens.
