RAIPUR / A group of talented students and teachers from Chhattisgarh, who recently met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan, called on Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at his official residence here on Tuesday and shared their experiences of the visit.
The students briefed Sai about their interaction with the President and their visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan. They said meeting Murmu was an unforgettable experience, recalling how she interacted with them warmly and spoke about their education, interests and aspirations.
Congratulating the students, Sai said representing Chhattisgarh at Rashtrapati Bhavan was a matter of pride. He said the students had enhanced the state’s image through their talent, confidence and cultural presentation.
“Our children have immense talent and potential. With the right opportunities, encouragement and platforms, they can bring laurels to Chhattisgarh in every field,” the Chief Minister said. He urged the students to pursue their studies with dedication, set ambitious goals and work consistently towards achieving them.
The students had been given a special opportunity to meet and interact with Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. The President praised their talent and encouraged them to pursue their goals.
One of the most memorable moments of the visit came when Murmu personally tied a rakhi on Nukesh Kumar Verma, a student with special needs (CWSN). The gesture left a lasting impression on Nukesh as well as the students and teachers accompanying him.
The visit also featured a cultural presentation showcasing Chhattisgarh’s rich folk traditions. Girl students performed the state’s traditional Sुआ (Sua) dance at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The presentation, featuring the state’s folk traditions, music and cultural heritage, was appreciated by the President.
Sai said it was particularly gratifying that the students had showcased not only the talent of Chhattisgarh but also its rich cultural heritage at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. He described folk culture as an integral part of the state’s identity and an invaluable heritage.
“When the younger generation embraces its cultural traditions and presents them on prestigious national platforms, it gives these traditions new energy and wider recognition,” Sai said.
He urged the students to draw inspiration from the President’s encouragement and the experiences gained during their visit. He wished them success in their future endeavours and encouraged them to dream big and work with confidence to make their families, state and country proud.
The students who met Murmu included Rajwati Poyam from Narayanpur, Himanshu Thakur from Sukma, Payal Rajani from Durg, Ragni Sahu from Mahasamund, Nukesh Kumar Verma from Raipur, and Durgesh Sahu and Digesh Sen from Mahasamund.
Dr Mukti Bais, State Nodal Officer, Samagra Shiksha, Raipur, and Chandrashekhar Mithlesh, Lecturer (Physics), Government Ashi Bai Golchha Higher Secondary School, Mahasamund, were also present.
