MP Chief Secretary Barnwal Reviews Preparations for Month-Long Seva Sankalp Campaign

Campaign to Commemorate PM Modi’s Birthday to Focus on Public Participation, Welfare Delivery and Social Service

BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh Chief Secretary Ashok Barnwal on Saturday directed heads of all government departments to ensure active participation in the month-long campaign, Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, scheduled to begin on September 17.

The Madhya Pradesh government will launch the campign from the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, with a series of public outreach, welfare and social service activities planned across the state. The campaign will continue until October 17.

Reviewing preparations for the campaign here, Barnwal stressed the need for coordinated efforts by all departments to ensure the successful implementation of the planned programmes.

The campaign will feature a range of activities, including statewide illumination drives, blood donation camps, cultural and educational competitions, beneficiary outreach programmes, public service camps and innovation initiatives.

According to an official press note, the opening day will witness the lighting of the Seva Ashirwad Ka Diya across Madhya Pradesh at 7 pm. The event will be organised at 10 iconic locations in every district in the presence of distinguished personalities. Lamps will also be lit at the homes of beneficiary families of various Central and state government schemes in rural and urban areas.

The government has set minimum targets for the illumination drive, including 500 lamps in each gram panchayat and municipal ward, 1,000 in each municipal corporation ward and 250 in each nagar parishad ward. Special lighting programmes will also be held at historical sites, prominent public places and spiritual destinations, including Mahakal Lok, Shri Ram Raja Lok and Salkanpur Devi Lok. Alternative lighting arrangements will be permitted where traditional lamp-lighting is not feasible.

Blood donation camps will be held on September 17 at primary and community health centres, civil hospitals, district hospitals and medical colleges across the state. The Health Department will coordinate with blood banks, the Red Cross and medical colleges to ensure the availability of doctors, paramedical teams, blood collection vehicles and other medical facilities.

Among the key programmes planned during the campaign are the Mere Sapnon Ka Bharat painting and speech competitions, to be held at the district level from September 19 to 26 and at the state level on October 4 and 5. Participation of both government and private schools and colleges will be ensured. Winners will receive awards and certificates signed by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.

The Namo Seva—untold story initiative, scheduled from September 19 to October 5, will feature street plays highlighting stories of public service. Each district will prepare at least 10 street theatre groups. The groups will be honoured at the district level on September 25.

The Aangan Milan Seva programme will be organised at all anganwadi centres from September 26 to October 5, with activities for women and children, including nutritional refreshments, games and reading material.

Another major component, Seva Ki Kahani, will run from September 17 to October 17. Beneficiaries whose lives have changed through government welfare schemes will share their experiences through messages, videos and reels, documenting their circumstances before and after receiving the benefits.

The Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra—Viksit Bharat Ka Sankalp will be held on October 7, marking the completion of 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public service. One procession will be taken out from each Assembly constituency and will culminate at the district headquarters. The processions will feature a ceremonial urn, a symbolic torch and displays of government achievements. A public programme, including a live telecast of the Prime Minister’s address, will be organised at the district headquarters.

Other initiatives include the Vadnagar-Varanasi Seva Yatra, scheduled from September 17 to October 7, which will pass through all 55 districts of Madhya Pradesh along 13 routes. The Seva Mera Yogdan and Seva Setu—Sarkar Aapke Dwar programmes, from October 2 to 10, will focus on public participation and the delivery of welfare benefits through mega camps at block and urban-zone levels.

The campaign will also feature a human rangoli programme in six districts—Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Jhabua and Alirajpur—on October 9 and 10, an innovation challenge, a national-level Sushasan Seva Samvad on October 17 and various influencer-exchange and public engagement initiatives.

Participants and beneficiaries will be encouraged to upload photographs, videos and reels of campaign activities on www.modiat25.in.
