CM Chouhan Hails Openly Barwani Collector’s Initiatives ‘Pahunch Abhiyan’ and ‘Mission Ummeed’, Excellent Work Has Been Done in District under ‘Ankur Abhiyan’
BHOPAL / Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan praised openly the innovations, ‘Pahunch Abhiyan’ and ‘Mission Ummeed’ run by the collector of Barwani Shivraj Singh in the district. Appreciating the district administration, he also said excellent work has been done under Ankur Abhiyan in the district.
Chouhan was conducting a review meeting with the Barwani and Rajgarh district administrations via video conferencing from his residential office at 6:30 am on Monday.
“I openly appreciate the campaigns, ‘Pahunch Abhiyan’ and ‘Mission Ummeed’ run by the district administration Barwani. Excellent work has been done in Barwani under the Ankur Abhiyan,” CM Chouhan expressed pleasure.
“Janta tak hum pahunche jarurat isi bat ki hai, isi se baaki cheejen theek hongi (We reach out to the public this is what is needed, everything else will get fine by it),” the CM also said.
Chouhan directed the collector to prepare a presentation related to the drives, Pahunch Abhiyan and Mission Ummeed run by the administration. CM also said that the presentation would be scheduled in the upcoming collectors-commissioners video conferencing. District in-charge minister Hardeep Singh Dung and minister Prem Singh Patel attended the meeting virtually.
In a first of its kind in the state, the Brwani collector has launched ‘Panhuch Abhiyan’ -a unique idea of good governance, to deliver the services at the doorstep of the villagers who couldn’t get the benefit of the government schemes due to a lack of awareness and incomplete documentation.
The campaign was launched on 6 May from the Mehadgaon of the Sendhwa sub-division of the district and it was inaugurated by minister Dung as a chief guest.
Under the Pahunch campaign, camps are being held in every village and hamlet in the district. Altogether, 33,871 applications have been received out of which 21,173 have been disposed of at the spot and 195 camps have been held so far.
Another unique drive, namely Mission Ummeed is also being run by the Collector to reduce the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) and Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) by enhancing institutional deliveries. Collector Singh has also been felicitated recently with the prestigious national-level Skoch Award for this innovation.
Turning the government campaign into a public movement by collector Shivraj Singh, around 70 thousand saplings have been planted on the barren hills with public participation under the Ankur Abhiyan -the state-level flagship campaign of CM Chouhan to protect the environment. Keeping in mind the sustainable development goals, the hills are being developed as city forests to promote ‘carbon credit’. Treated sewage water is being used for plants through the drip irrigation system. The campaign has become a major example of good governance.
Barwani district has a 69 per cent tribal population and has been selected under the NITI (national institution for transforming India) Aayog’s Aspirational districts programme. The Tribals of the district reside in the scattered villages and hamlets. Several villages are yet to connect with the approach roads and mobile connectivity so the tribals could not take advantage of the state and central government schemes due to incomplete documents required for the schemes.
