BHOPAL/Madhya Pradesh on Saturday positioned itself as a key destination for global investment and exports, with Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inviting businesses from Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) countries to forge long-term partnerships with the state across sectors ranging from pharmaceuticals and renewable energy to food processing and information technology.
Addressing the inaugural session of the India-Latin America and Caribbean Trade and Investment Forum-2026 in Indore, Yadav said Madhya Pradesh was rapidly emerging as a new global investment and export hub, backed by investor-friendly policies, robust infrastructure and a large ready-to-use industrial land bank.
“Our state offers stability, transparent governance and strong logistics connectivity, making it one of the most attractive investment destinations in the country,” he said while inviting foreign delegates to invest, manufacture and innovate in the state.
The Chief Minister said Madhya Pradesh currently has over 1.25 lakh acres of ready industrial land and a road network exceeding five lakh kilometres. He also announced plans to develop six major industrial corridors over the next five years to strengthen connectivity across different regions of the state.
Highlighting the state’s growing trade footprint with the LAC region, Yadav said exports from Madhya Pradesh to Latin American and Caribbean countries rose 19 per cent during 2025-26 to Rs 3,835 crore, with pharmaceuticals emerging as a major contributor. Engineering goods, plastics, jumbo bags, agri-products and manufactured items have also become important export segments.
He noted that trade relations with countries such as Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Colombia and the Dominican Republic were expanding steadily, creating fresh opportunities for industrial collaboration and supply-chain integration.
Emphasising the state’s manufacturing capabilities, Yadav said Indore and nearby Pithampur had evolved into global pharmaceutical hubs, supplying medicines to major international markets. He also pitched Madhya Pradesh as a reliable partner for automotive, mining equipment and engineering products.
The forum, attended by trade representatives from 15 countries, also witnessed the launch of a dedicated digital platform and website aimed at strengthening economic engagement between India and the Latin American and Caribbean region.
