11 industrial parks proposed under BHAVYA

Madhya Pradesh has submitted proposals for 11 industrial parks under Phase-I, Round-I of the Centre’s Bharat Industrial Development Scheme, also referred to as BHAVYA. The proposed parks will cover 9,047.08 acres, with a total Detailed Project Report (DPR) cost of Rs 8,144.35 crore.

The state plans to develop the parks with investment-ready, plug-and-play infrastructure to attract new investments and expand employment opportunities. The proposed parks have been distributed across different geographical regions of Madhya Pradesh with the aim of ensuring balanced industrial development.

The 11 proposed projects include Avantika Industrial Centre in Ujjain, Bhensola in Dhar, Piplarawan-Palikalan in Dewas-Shajapur, IR Ratlam-Palsodi, Ashta Industrial Cluster in Sehore, Maswasi Grant in Sagar, Chainpura in Guna, Mohna in Gwalior, Dharampura in Jabalpur, Simra in Katni and Shivsagar in Rewa.

The Bhensola industrial park has been proposed as a textile park and will serve as an extension of the PM MITRA Park in Dhar, one of India’s largest integrated textile parks. It is envisaged to cover the entire textile value chain. The other proposed parks are expected to support sectors including pharmaceuticals, automobiles, renewable energy equipment, semiconductors, IT and IT-enabled services, creating direct and indirect employment opportunities.

Focus on women workers

The state government also highlighted measures aimed at improving facilities, safety and working conditions for women employed in industrial areas. These include day-care centres, CCTV-based security, healthcare facilities, essential utilities, canteens and hostels equipped with necessary amenities.

The initiatives are aimed at increasing women’s participation in industrial employment while providing them with a safe and conducive work environment.

Industrial corridors to boost investment

The state also highlighted the role of industrial corridors and industrial nodes being developed across Madhya Pradesh in strengthening its industrial infrastructure. The state said coordination between centrally supported projects and its investment-friendly policies would help expedite the implementation of investment proposals.

DPIIT Secretary and NICDIT Chairman Amardeep Singh Bhatia delivered the welcome address, while NICDIT CEO Rajat Kumar Saini made a presentation on industrial corridors and related projects.

Yadav’s presentation at the national-level meeting underlined Madhya Pradesh’s efforts to position itself as a major industrial and investment hub through expanded infrastructure, investor-friendly policies and plug-and-play facilities.
