MP CM Yadav to Distribute E-Scooters to 7,500 Meritorious Students

State-level Distribution Programme to be Held in Bhopal on September 16

BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will distribute e-scooters to more than 7,500 meritorious students under the state government’s Mukhyamantri Scooty Yojana at a programme here on September 16.

The state-level distribution programme will be held at Government Subhash Excellence Higher Secondary School in Shivaji Nagar from 10 am, officials said.

The scheme aims to encourage students of government higher secondary schools to excel academically and facilitate their access to higher education. The e-scooters are also expected to ease their daily commute to colleges.

Students eligible for the scheme must have secured at least 70 per cent marks in Class 12 in their first attempt and stood first in their respective schools. The scheme is open to regular students of government higher secondary schools under the School Education and Tribal Affairs departments.

Students from all academic streams are eligible for the benefit.

For the 2025-26 academic session, more than 7,500 eligible students will receive e-scooters under the scheme, the government said.

More than 23,000 students have benefited from the initiative so far, with the state government spending around Rs 246 crore on its implementation.

The government said the scheme was aimed at recognising academic achievement while providing meritorious students with greater mobility for pursuing higher education. It is also intended to encourage students in government schools to improve their academic performance and continue their studies after Class 12.

The initiative is part of the state’s efforts to promote educational achievement among students enrolled in government schools and strengthen their participation in higher education.
