INDORE: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will address the Congress’ proposed ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ programme in Indore on September 12, with the party planning to mobilise around 50,000 students for the event.
Indore city Congress committee president Chintu Chouksey said on Saturday that Gandhi would interact with students and young people and raise issues related to education during the programme.
The Congress is making arrangements to bring students from Indore and neighbouring areas to the proposed event, Chouksey said.
‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ is a student outreach campaign launched by the Congress, with programmes being organised at educational centres across the country. Through the campaign, the opposition party has been targeting the BJP-led government over issues such as question paper leaks, rising education costs, irregularities in government recruitment and unemployment.
Gandhi, who is the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, last addressed a ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ programme in Pune, Maharashtra, on August 22.
