BHOPAL/The Madhya Pradesh government on Friday carried out a major bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring and posting 32 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers across the state, with changes in key urban and rural administrative positions.
In the reshuffle ordered by the General Administration Department, Abhishek Choudhary, a 2018-batch IAS officer and chief executive officer of the Dhar district panchayat, has been appointed Commissioner of the Gwalior Municipal Corporation.
Dr Nagarjun B. Gowda, a 2019-batch officer who was serving as CEO of the Khandwa district panchayat, has been posted as Commissioner of the Satna Municipal Corporation. He will also hold the additional charge of chief executive officer of the Satna Smart City.
The outgoing Gwalior Municipal Commissioner, Sangh Priya, has been transferred and posted as CEO of the Singrauli Zila Panchayat.
In another significant move, Srishti Deshmukh Gowda, who was serving as Additional Collector, Khandwa, has been appointed CEO of the Rewa district panchayat.
The government also shifted Jagdish Kumar Gome, a 2016-batch IAS officer, from the post of CEO of the Singrauli district panchayat to CEO of the Sagar district panchayat.
Sanjana Jain, who was serving as Additional Collector in Maihar, has been posted as Deputy Secretary in the Water Resources Department.
The reshuffle also includes changes in several district panchayats and urban local bodies. Naveen Kumar Dhurve has been posted as CEO of the Dewas district panchayat, while officers have been reassigned to key positions in districts including Sidhi, Khandwa, Sheopur, Tikamgarh, Barwani and Balaghat.
The state government has also made appointments at the Bhopal Municipal Corporation and transferred several officers to deputy secretary-level positions in various departments.
The latest exercise is among the significant administrative changes undertaken by the Mohan Yadav government, with the reshuffle largely affecting officers working in district panchayats, municipal corporations, collectorates and state government departments.
Other notable moves include Akshay Kumar Temarwal as Additional Commissioner, Bhopal Municipal Corporation; Naveen Kumar Dhurve as CEO, Dewas district panchayat; and several officers appointed as deputy secretaries in state departments or CEOs in districts such as Sidhi, Khandwa, Sheopur, Tikamgarh, Barwani and Balaghat.
The transfers involve IAS officers from batches ranging from 2016 to 2024 and are expected to bring changes in the administrative leadership of several urban local bodies and rural development institutions across Madhya Pradesh.
