BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Monday said the state’s investment drive was gaining momentum, with fresh industrial investments, including proposals worth thousands of crores, being received from across the country.
Addressing the Cabinet ahead of its meeting, Yadav said foundation stones were laid in July for manufacturing plants of Aditya Techno Company and Leon India. Two new industries with a combined investment of ₹850 crore were also inaugurated in Pithampur. He said both companies had relocated from Rajasthan to Madhya Pradesh to begin operations.
The Chief Minister said investment proposals worth around ₹5,000 crore were received during a roadshow in Delhi for the Telecom Manufacturing Zone in Gwalior, while proposals worth ₹8,635 crore were received at a similar roadshow in Ahmedabad.
Highlighting the achievements of young entrepreneurs from the state, Yadav said Vidisha-based youth Vaibhav Jain had received an opportunity to launch a satellite. His startup, Vyomik, is preparing to launch a satellite into space. The Chief Minister congratulated Jain and wished him success.
On monsoon-related problems, Yadav directed officials to prepare an action plan after the rainy season to improve drainage systems. He said excessive rainfall frequently leads to overflowing drains and waterlogging in urban local bodies and panchayat areas. He asked officials to ensure uninterrupted drainage flow before the next monsoon.
Referring to the latest NITI Aayog report, Yadav said youth had been categorised into five groups for skill development — school students, college students, organised-sector workers, unorganised-sector workers and those deprived of opportunities in education, employment and self-employment. He directed the Higher Education and Youth Welfare departments to formulate concrete measures for such youth, particularly those unable to complete ITI or other employment-oriented training due to financial constraints.
The Chief Minister also said a special drive to create Farmer IDs had been underway since August 20. The IDs will facilitate farmers’ access to benefits, including fertiliser and seed distribution, and he urged public representatives to encourage farmers to register.
Yadav said the Mukhyamantri Jan Vishwas Abhiyan had been running for three weeks with encouraging results. If Friday is declared a holiday due to a special occasion or festival, camps should instead be organised on Saturday. He directed district collectors to provide advance information about the camps.
He also instructed all ministers to organise a two-day Chintan Shivir in September to review major works and schemes implemented by their departments over the past two-and-a-half years through detailed discussions with officials.
Yadav also extended greetings to the people of Madhya Pradesh on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
