TV Actor Shweta Tiwari Booked in Bhopal for Saying ‘My Bra Size is being Taken by God’
BHOPAL / Television Actor Shweta Tiwari was on early Friday booked in Bhopal of Madhya Pradesh for allegedly hurting religious sentiments through her remark on God.
Actress Tiwari had made a controversial statement in the state capital on January 26 while addressing media persons in a press conference held for the promotion of her starring web series, ‘Show Stopper’. A video in which Tiwari is allegedly saying Meri Bra Ka Size Bhagwan Le Rahe Hain (My bra size is being taken by God) went viral on social media on 27 January. Her co-actors, Rohit Roy, Digangana Suryavanshi, Sourabh Raaj Jain among others associated with the project were also present when she made the remark.
“A case has been registered against TV actor Shweta Tiwari under section 295A of the Indian Penal Code and police will take further action in the matter'” State’s Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra told reporters on Friday here in his routine press briefing. “In wake of the controversial statement of Actor Shweta Tiwari, a case under section 295A of IPC has been registered against her in Bhopal. Further action will be taken as per rule,” Home Minister tweeted also.
The case was filed in Shyamla Hills police station based on the complaint lodged by Sonu Prajapati, a local citizen, who alleged that the actor has hurt his religious sentiments through her comment. According to police, summon will be sent to the actor by post or by sending a police team. Section 295A is imposed against that person who deliberates and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings or any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs.
During the press conference, Sourabh was being teased for playing the character of a bra-fitter in the web series, while in his previous shows, he had essayed the role of Lord Krishna.
To this, Shweta said, “Bhagwan se seedha bra fitter. Matlab jump to Dekho (From God to bra fitter directly. Means, look at a jump), and then she made controversial remarks.
