Transport Enforcement Staff Surprise Retiring Colleague with Memorable Farewell
BHOPAL / The interstate border check-post, Sendhwa located on National Highway 52 witnessed a rare farewell of the transport enforcement staff on Tuesday. The cops of the Transport Department deployed on vehicle checking duty at the checkpoint in Barwani district of Madhya Pradesh accorded a memorable farewell to their colleague Israr Ahmed Khan, Transport Head Constable (THC) who retired from service on 30 June.
Israr’s farewell took place at the barrier as he was on vehicle checking duty on the last day of his service. Khan was thrilled to see an arrangement of surprise valedictory party conducted by his superior officer Regional Transport Inspector and in-charge of the check-post PS Bhilala.
Wishing him a peaceful and healthy retired life, Bhilala presented a gold ring to head constable Khan as a memento in a brief function held at the check-post. The in charge of the checkpoint, Bhilala also handed over a memento, shawl and shreephal to THC, Khan.
Addressing the farewell party, Bhilala said that Khan had been conscientious towards his government duty and he executed his assignments given by his senior officer in a lawful manner. He has a vast knowledge of department-related activities, he also said.
Interestingly, Israr retired from the same place, Sendhwa check-post where he was deployed first time as a transport constable in March 1983 after joining the service. Khan believes in secularism and he respects all religions. During his service, Khan has been unbiased towards the political parties.
Khan’s wife and his sons also came to his workplace, Sendhwa check-post from Bhopal to join the farewell party.
Other officers and enforcement staff of the checkpoint also honoured him with garlanding and wished for his healthy life. Apart from RTI Bhilala, transport sub-Inspectors, Monika Meena and Suman Dixit, Assistant TSI KP Sharma and other enforcement staff including the transport head constable and constable were present on this occasion.
Israr Khan was a contented man as he showed a sense of fulfillment and dedication to his service even on the last day. With a smile on his face, he thanked his colleagues who made his day memorable with the rare farewell.
Hailing from Gwalior, Israr had more than 38 years of service since he joined the Transport department at its headquarters in Gwalior in 1983. He was posted at the various transport check-posts and in flying squads in the state during his service. Khan’s retirement with his last day being hectic on the check-post duty was highlighted by his colleagues as the enforcement staff’s dedication to service during the COVID-19 crisis.
