Retired IAS Ashish Saxena conferred with CM Excellence Award for innovation ‘Samjhauta Se Samadhan’

BHOPAL / Ashish Saxena, a retired IAS officer has been conferred with the Chief Minister Excellence Award for ‘Samjhauta Se Samadhan’ innovation taken by him, when he was posted as divisional commissioner in Gwalior and Chambal of Madhya Pradesh.

MP governor Mangubhai Patel and CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan honoured the then divisional commissioner Saxena, who retired in September this year, with the CM Excellence Award for innovation in the social inclusion and empowerment category in a grand ceremony, which has recently been organised in Bhopal. A sum of Rs 1 Lakh cash was also rewarded along with the award to Saxena during the event.

The innovation ‘Samjhauta Se Samadhan(SSS)’, introduced in November last year in all eight districts of both divisions by Saxena, has also got the precious Skoch Award-2022 in the silver category.
The innovation, SSS has been introduced to make villages dispute free and bring harmony among the rural people.

The CM Excellence Award (for innovation) is the highest and a state honour given by the government, for bringing innovative ideas as part of the good governance.

The initiative is a joint effort of the administration, police, and judiciary as a way to get rid of small disputes among the villagers.
The idea of bringing harmony among the villagers of the state had recently been fetched by CM Chouhan. Chouhan had hailed Saxena’s initiative too during a video conferencing review meeting of collectors and commissioners’ works and had said it was too inspiring to other districts of the state.

“Considering the CM’s desire, we had launched this innovative idea on the basis of the Indian concept of ‘Panch Parmeshwar’ to make the villages dispute-free and create a harmonious atmosphere among the people of the rural areas”, Saxena who retired in September this year told The Sun Today.
On this achievement, Saxena extended credits to ADGs of both the ranges, all eight collectors and SPs of both divisions and especially expressed regard to the administrative judge of MP High Court Gwalior bench, Justice Rohit Arya who transferred 4022 cases to the campaign.
The Gwalior bench of HC has carried forward the campaign with the help of the state legal services authority and camps have been organised in its jurisdiction.
“Bringing harmony among the villagers and becoming villages ideal are the main aims behind the initiative. Besides, it is also an effort as a measure to reduce the work pressure on administration, police and judiciary,” Saxena said.
More than 7093 such cases have been disposed of so far and around 50 villages made dispute free in both divisions.
Quarrelling over trivial matters is a common phenomenon in the Chambal region, these small disputes over agricultural fields, barns, homes, and courtyards sometimes become a prestige issue among the villagers and turn into big criminal cases. Some matters have even now been going on in the civil and judicial courts for many generations.
