Madhya Pradesh Resumes Interstate Bus Services, Remains Ban to and from Maharashtra

BHOPAL / Madhya Pradesh government further extended the suspension of interstate bus services to and from Maharashtra till 22 June, but the movement of passenger buses has been resumed among Uttar Pradesh, Rajashthan and Chhattisgarh from 16 June.
Additional Transport Commissioner Enforcement (ATCE), Arvind Saxena has on Tuesday issued the orders of extending the ban on the movement of interstate passenger buses to and from Maharashtra.
“In view of flattening the curve of the Covid-19 pandemic in the state, the government has decided to continue the ban on the movement of passenger buses to and from Maharashtra till 22 June”, the ATCE, Saxena told The Sun Today. “It has also been decided that the bus services will be resumed among the remaining bordering states from Wednesday by following the Home Ministry’s guidelines and Covid-related protocols”, Saxena said.
The transport department has instructed its divisional deputy transport commissioners and the district transport officers whose jurisdiction is come at the Maharastra bordering districts to ensure the restriction on the movement of the passenger buses on the state borders.
The interstate and all India tourist permits between Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra have been extended once again, it will be continued till 22 June.
The Transport department has played a crucial as delivering the Liquid Medical Oxygen at the hospitals where the Covid-19 patients were gasping for breaths during the treatment when the peak of the second wave of the pandemic hit the state.
The ban among UP, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh on the movement of passenger buses had been continuing since 29 April. While the ban on the movement of passenger buses between MP and Maharastra has been continuing since 23 March.
