Ukrainian Sadhu of Juna Akhada Makes Completed Wedding of his Country’s Couple with Vedic Rituals
NEW DELHI / Sanatan culture is neither limited to any religion nor any country’s boundaries but it believes in the supreme principle of the welfare of universal mankind, a Ukrainian Sadhu of Juna Akhada has proved it because a couple, from his country, has made the wedding with Vedic rituals while the Sadhu has recited the Vedic Mantras to complete the marriage.
Olena and Oleg on 7th August made to have a Sanatan wedding complete with the Vedic traditions at Dnipro river, a nice place in nature in Kyiv in Ukraine. The groom and the bridal, both are from Ukraine while Sagar Puri, a Babaji from Juna Akhada, who is also originally from the same country, made the Vedic Mantras recited for completing the wedding rituals as the Pandit (priest).
The Sadhu conducted the ceremony, all rituals including tying knot, seven steps around the holy fire, Kanyadan– bride’s father gives the bride’s hands to groom, Jaimala– in which groom and bridal garland each other, Sat-Panch Bachan– taking the oath of fulfilling of seven-five commitments and etc. were completed in the marriage ceremony.
Sagar Puri is the (Shishya) disciple of Ashtkoushal Mahant of Juna Akhada Swami Dayanand Puri Ji, who is from Rishikesh Uttarakhand, India. Sagar Puri belongs to Ukraine. He took initiation (Deeksha) as a Sanyashi of Juna Akhada from Mahant Dayanand Puri Ji during the Kumbha Mela organized in Prayagraj (Allahabad) in 2019 in India.
“I am glad that youth in Ukraine are interested in Vedic traditions of yoga and Sanatan Dharma. The couple decided to hold this powerful ceremony of the wedding with the Sanatan tradition after being inspired by another pair who had last year made marriage with the same tradition,” Sagar Puri told The Sun Today. “The couple pledged the seven commitments each other as taking in the Vedic wedding ceremony in the Sanatan Dharma. They also made a promise to follow these commitments in all life. The couple also took seven steps around the Dhuni (holy fire) in the Mandapam,” he said.
Sagar Puri informed that he made the marriage of this couple completed by reciting the Mantras which are pronounced in the Vedic tradition wedding ceremony. After completing the Vedic rituals of the wedding ceremony, the newlywed couple took blessings from their parents by touching their feet and lying at their bottoms, he added.
Around fifty people of the city and the parents of the couple participated in the wedding ceremony and enjoyed the party.
“The people in Ukraine who are in touch with me have been attracting to spirituality and adopting Vedic traditions in their life since I took Sanyas. It is happening only due to the blessings, teachings and learning of my Guruji Shri Dayanand Puri Ji,” Sagar Puri further added.
Sagar Puri took Deeksha to become a Sadhu from his Guruji Shri Dayanand Puri in 2019 during the Kumbha Mela for adopting Sanyas in whole life. Now he is living in Kyiv in Ukraine and has been working as an advocate for the last 19 years. Besides, he is discharging his duty of spreading spirituality as a Sanyasi of Juna Akhada.
With the inspiration of Sagar Puri, another couple has also made a wedding with the Vedic tradition in Ukraine.
