‘A Matter of Pride for Every Indian’: MP CM on PM Modi Receiving Uzbekistan’s Top Honour

NIWARI: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Monday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for receiving Uzbekistan’s highest state honour, saying the recognition was a matter of pride for the entire country and its people.

Yadav said the award should not be viewed solely as an acknowledgement of Modi’s individual achievements but as recognition of India and its citizens.

“No leader in the world has received as many honours as Modi ji. It is a matter of pride for us. This is not just PM Modi ji’s honour but the honour of the country and 144-145 crore Indians. I would like to congratulate Prime Minister Modi,” he said.

Senior BJP leader Narottam Mishra also praised Modi’s international standing, describing him as a global leader who has earned unprecedented recognition from countries across the world.

Mishra said he had witnessed Modi’s political journey from his tenure as Gujarat chief minister to becoming the Prime Minister and subsequently emerging as a prominent global leader.

“In my view, PM Narendra Modi is perhaps the first Indian Prime Minister to have received so many honours across the world. He is a global leader,” Mishra said, adding that the international recognition accorded to Modi was a source of pride for Indians.

Modi received Uzbekistan’s highest state honour from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Sunday during his two-day state visit to the Central Asian country.

Accepting the honour, Modi thanked Mirziyoyev and said the recognition reflected India’s ancient heritage, its belief in universal brotherhood and the efforts of its 1.4 billion citizens.

He said he considered himself only a medium for the honour and credited the country’s heritage and the perseverance and hard work of Indians as its true recipients.

Modi also said India and Uzbekistan would continue working together for the welfare of the Global South and humanity.
