BHOPAL/An evening of ghazals and live music captivated audiences at the Academy of Music & Technology (AM&T), which organised ‘Shaam-e-Ghazal’, featuring noted ghazal singer Kirti Sood.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by AM&T Director Aakriti Mehra, Co-founder Pradeep Patariya, and Kirti Sood. Sood was also felicitated by the academy.
Sood presented a repertoire of celebrated ghazals, including Ghuncha-e-Shauq, Aaj Jaane Ki Zid Na Karo, Ae Mohabbat Tere Anjaam Pe Rona Aaya, and Saans Lena Bhi Saza Lagta Hai, drawing enthusiastic applause from the audience.
She was accompanied by Mohammad Nayeem* on tabla and Arif Latif on keyboard, whose performances added depth to the musical evening.
AM&T Director Aakriti Mehra also performed, rendering ghazals such as Main To Hawa Hoon, Meri Aankhon Se Koi Neend, and Rafta Rafta.., which were well received by music lovers.
Speaking on the occasion, R.K. Mehra, who serves as the technical adviser for the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation and former Engineer-in-Chief in the Public Works Department, Madhya Pradesh, said the academy aims to preserve India’s rich musical heritage and promote art and culture by organising such events. Co-founder Pradeep Patariya said the academy would continue to provide a platform for musicians and organise programmes for music enthusiasts in the future.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, leaving the audience with an evening of memorable musical performances.
