In Rewa, 261 vehicles penalised during checking drive for violation of safety measures

BHOPAL / In a massive checking drive, 261 vehicles were made challans for violation of safety measures by the joint teams of the Transport department and police in Rewa division of Madhya Pradesh on Friday.

During the campaign, the teams collected 2.29 lakh of revenue from the owners who’s

passenger and goods vehicles were found in illegal transportation. On the day, the enforcement teams checked around 945 vehicles while a total of 21 transport vehicles were seized.

The checking drive is being conducted after the Division Commissioner of Rewa’s instructions. The commissioner had given instructions to the police and Transport department officials to run an extensive vehicle checking campaign while chairing a meeting of the ‘road safety committee’.

Regional Transport Officer of Rewa Manish Tripathi lead the team while Regional Transport Inspectors R B Singh and Ajay Marko in-charges of Hanumana and Chakghat interstate check-posts in charge respectively executed the massive checking drive. Assistant Transport Sub-Inspectors Ashutosh Singh and Shriman Singh also took part in the checking campaign. Transport Head Constables and constables including Akhilesh Singh, Rajpal Singh, Chandra Shekhar Bahrolia, Ramsukh Koul, Narendra Singh Munna Lal Mishra, and Anil Khanna participated in the drive.

The checking drive was conducted in the jurisdictions of various police stations in the division; such as Sohagi, Gud, Sagra, Govind Garh, Manganwa and Gad. The in-charge of respective police stations Onkar Tiwari, Arvind Rathore, Nisha Khuta, Shiva Agrawal, J P Patel and R K Gayagwan took part in the drive.

The teams deeply checked the security measures, helmets, seat belts, emergency exits, headlights and directional indicators lamps, in the vehicles.
