CM Chouhan louds human chain formed by girls’ students in Barwani for plantation
BHOPAL/Expressing pleasure over human chains formed by the girls’ students of Barwani district for disseminating a message of ‘Ankur Abhiyan’, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the girls have given an amazing message by doing it, and he also conveyed love and blessings to them.
The girls’ students of government Kanya Shiksha Premises Narawala in Barwani district made the human chains on Thursday at the campus forming Hindi words ‘अंकुर अभियान -2022’ (Ankur Abhiyan) and ‘पेड लगाओ’ (plant saplings) on the occasion of ‘Hariyali Amavasya‘.
On the initiative of CM Chouhan, a special drive for planting saplings is being run under the Ankur Abhiyan across the state, started on 28 July and will continue till 15 August.
Retweeting the district administration’s tweet in Hindi, CM Chouhan wrote, “Love and blessings to all those girls who gave an amazing message for planting saplings by forming human chains in Narawala of Barwani district.” He also wrote, “Tress and plants are the strong basis of earth power and our life. By enriching this priceless gift, we all can make our life pleasant and enjoyable.” The collector of Barwani, Shivraj Singh had tweeted the photo of human chains that was retweeted by Chouhan with mentioning the above statements late yesterday night.
“I had appealed to the people of Barwani on the various social media platforms that wherever the space is available the plantation to be carried out on the occasion of Hariyali Amavasya and uploaded the photos on Vayudoot App,” the collector of Barwani, Shivraj Singh told The Sun Today. “In a single day, the 9000 photos were uploaded on Thursday on the App while only 19000 pictures had been uploaded before it. A gigantic excitement is being seen among the people towards the plantation,” the collector said.
On the initiative of the collector, Singh, the people along with the district administration have so far planted more than one lakh saplings on six barren hills situated in the city and its outskirts. Interestingly, all plants are alive that are planted with the public contribution. The collector has turned the Ankur Abhiyan into a public movement in the district.
After assuming charge as the collector of the district, Singh started the ‘movement of the plantation’ with public contribution. However, around 5.70 lakh saplings have also been planted in the district in the current monsoon so far by the forest department. The plantation is also being done at the 101 ‘Amrit Sarovar‘ (ponds), which are being dug in the various panchayats under the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav‘ initiative.
Ankur Abhiyan was started in June 2021 and is a state-wide flagship social programme of CM Chouhan to protect the environment and enhance awareness among the people for plantations.
CM Chouhan appreciated the collector’s initiative during a review meeting saying excellent works have been done in the district under the Ankur Abhiyan.
Ankur Abhiyan is being run in the district keeping in mind the sustainable development goals. Greenery is being developed on the hills like a ‘city forest’ promoting ‘carbon credit’. Treated grey water is being used for watering plants on some sites. The campaign is a nailing example of ‘good governance’.
