JAIPUR: Moderate to heavy rainfall lashed several parts of eastern Rajasthan over the past 24 hours, with Aligarh in Tonk district recording the highest rainfall of 11 cm, the Meteorological Centre said on Tuesday.
Lalsot in Dausa received 9 cm of rain, while Govindgarh, Kishangarh Bas and Malakheda in Alwar recorded 8 cm each. Chauth Ka Barwara in Sawai Madhopur, Nainwa and Patan in Bundi, and Pachpahar in Jhalawar received 7 cm each, according to the weather department.
Intermittent showers continued in parts of Alwar, Jaipur, Chittorgarh, Kota, Dausa and Tonk on Tuesday morning.
In Jaipur, rain for the second consecutive day brought relief from high temperatures. In Alwar, heavy showers led to waterlogging at several locations, with roads inundated and some underpasses submerged.
Several other areas of eastern Rajasthan also received rainfall on Monday, while most parts of western Rajasthan remained largely dry.
The continued showers have brought down temperatures in several eastern districts, while waterlogging and inundation disrupted movement in some urban areas, particularly in Alwar.
