BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Monday said India was becoming stronger across sectors under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and had the capability to overcome every challenge through its own strength.
Addressing a state-level conclave on the “Contribution of Centrally Funded Institutions for Samriddh Madhya Pradesh @2047”, Yadav said, “Skill is the new currency and innovation is the new economy.” He called upon institutions to become centres of skill development, research, innovation and entrepreneurship.
Drawing an analogy from the Ramayana, Yadav said just as Jambavan reminded Hanuman of his strength before he crossed the ocean, Prime Minister Modi had made India aware of its own capabilities.
The Chief Minister said a complete economic and knowledge value chain needed to be established, from publication to patent, patent to prototype and prototype to enterprise. He described Madhya Pradesh as a land of opportunities, with its talented youth, natural resources, agricultural strength, entrepreneurial spirit and industrial capabilities forming its key assets.
The conclave, organised by the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis, was held on the theme “One Institute–One Promise”. Yadav said the knowledge and technology available with central institutions should reach the last person in society rather than remain confined to laboratories and campuses.
He urged institutions to take practical, time-bound commitments for the state’s development and assured government support for implementing such initiatives.
Yadav said central and state institutions should collaborate in skill development, research, digital technology, healthcare, agriculture, education, energy, environment, industry and innovation. Such cooperation, he said, would create employment opportunities, promote entrepreneurship and ensure balanced regional development.
Chief Secretary Ashok Barnwal said the state’s vision for 2047 required participation from the government, civil society, entrepreneurs, institutions and citizens. He stressed the need to equip youth to meet challenges posed by artificial intelligence and urged institutions to set ambitious targets that could make Madhya Pradesh a global leader in various sectors.
As many as 13 MoUs were signed at the conclave to promote education, research, skill development and innovation. The participating institutions included IIT Indore, LNIPG Gwalior, IISER Bhopal, ICAR-National Soybean Research Institute, NITTTR Bhopal, NID Bhopal, ABV-IIITM Gwalior, IIIT Bhopal, CSIR-AMPRI Bhopal, SPA Bhopal and NFSU Bhopal, among others.
Representatives also discussed semiconductor technology, cybersecurity, drone technology, sports training, critical-element research and development of smart villages.
